BMet provides free short courses to help people get back to work. If you are aged 19 years and over and claiming benefits (JSA, ESA or Universal Credit), we have the following courses due to enrol at BMet this week:

Construction Skills, enrolment on Wednesday 1st November at Erdington Skills Centre, Edwards Road, Birmingham B24 9EW  

  • STARTS w/c Monday 20th November
  • 9 weeks, 2.5 days a week 8.30am-3.30pm
  • Bricklaying
  • Plastering
  • Electrical Skills
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Plumbing

Retail Knowledge, enrolling on Thursday 2nd November at Matthew Boulton College, Jennens Road, Birmingham B4 7PS

  •  STARTS Monday 6th November  
  • Learn about working in Retail, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Selling Skills and more
  • 1 week Monday-Friday 9.30am-3.30pm

Distance Learning Courses, enrolling on Friday 3rd November at 10.30am at James Watt College, Aldridge Rd, Great Barr, B44 8NE

In addition, we are taking referrals for upcoming courses in ESOL, Basic IT Skills, Food Safety, Health and Safety at Work, Business Administration, English and Maths. We are awaiting dates for Rail Engineering and are adding people onto the waiting list for this.

SBWA- we are working with Sigma Finance to support people into work as a Customer Advisor. We offer a 3 week training course leading to permanent, full time work for successful candidates (basic salary is £15.5k p/a). The next presentation/ assessment day is Tuesday 21st November at 10am (ERG/34620, PRO- 204 314). Any questions regards these jobs, feel free to get in touch.

Thank you for your referrals onto Horticulture and Health and Social Care courses. Both of these courses enrolled today with the next dates will be January 2018.
