Bournville College

Bournville College relocated to its existing campus in September 2011. The campus features state-of-the-art facilities which include Mac suites, motor vehicle maintenance workshops, music studios, training kitchens, over 1000 computers, Wi-Fi internet access, 3D cinema room, online learning material, conference centre for 200 delegates and much more. The campus also offers commercial facilities available to students, staff and general public, including: Urban Elegance hair salon, Urban Serenity beauty salon, Urban Flavours restaurant, The Garage @ Bournville College and Urban Fitness.

In 2015, the College launched a new Construction Centre which was designed in consultation with Construction Training Industry Board and local employers. It features workshops for bricklaying, painting and decorating, plumbing and electrical installations as well as IT rooms and student social area.

The College’s mission statement is ‘Raising Aspirations, Transforming Lives’. Bournville College was awarded Grade 2 – good college with outstanding features, during its last Ofsted inspection in May 2014. In August 2015, the College received 100% student satisfaction rating on higher education courses by National Student Survey. Similarly, QAA commented that ‘academic standards, the quality of enhancement of students learning opportunities, and the quality of information about learning opportunities all meet UK expectations’, in 2015.

The College is committed to supporting and developing employability provision, and invests in developing a wide range of courses and services that are effective in improving students’ employability skills. In 2015, 93% of students progressed to positive destinations, such as higher education, further education or work. The College also focuses on ensuring that students acquire knowledge, understanding and skills, including English, Maths and ICT so they can progress to further or higher education and/or sustained employment.

The College is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all students and to providing a positive environment where everyone can learn and work together. The College celebrates and values the diversity brought to it by all members of the college community and is committed to providing a supportive, creative, self-critical and reflective community that enables all members of its community to achieve their full potential.

• In September 2011, Bournville College relocated to a new £66 million purpose built campus in Longbridge, kick-starting wider regeneration of the area after the collapse of MG-Rover in 2005. Click here to find out more about new campus.
• The new campus features state-of-the-art facilities which include Mac suites, motor vehicle maintenance workshops, music studios, training kitchens, over 1000 computers, Wi-Fi internet access, 3D cinema room, online learning material, conference centre for 200 delegates and much more.

• Bournville College offers courses for school leavers, adults, employers and higher education.
• Qualifications include A Levels, BTECs, NVQs, Apprenticeships, Higher Education and bespoke training for businesses.
• Bournville College is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all students and to providing a positive environment where everyone can learn and work together.
• Bournville College was graded ‘good’ by Ofsted in May 2014
