Overview

Brook is the UK’s leading provider of sexual health services and advice for young people under 25.
We are the only charity working across the UK and Channel Islands that specialises in working with young people to promote their sexual health in the wider context of health and wellbeing.

What we do

Our education work, in schools and community venues, supports emotional development and the learning of core life skills, with specific programmes that address the needs of the most vulnerable young people. Our training for professionals is designed to improve young people’s experience of health and education, and our publications cover a broad range of sexual health issues.

We work in partnership with young people to fight for a society that has a positive attitude to young people, sexuality and identity. Participation at Brook is a process through which young people can be heard, influence decisions and effect real change.

Brook’s vision is of a society that values all children, young people and their developing sexuality. We want all children and young people to be supported to develop the self-confidence, skills and understanding they need to enjoy and take responsibility for their sexual lives, sexual health and emotional well-being.

By 2019 Brook wants to see demonstrable improvements in societal attitudes and intergenerational communication about sex, sexuality and sexual health. We want to see significant developments in the quality and quantity of education and sexual health services in school, further education, health and community settings.

Our mission is to ensure that all children and young people have access to high quality, free and confidential sexual health services, as well as education and support that enables them to make informed, active choices about their personal and sexual relationships so they can enjoy their sexuality without harm.
