Overview

What we do

If you are struggling with debt, homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, or just really confused by the benefits system and you live in Birmingham then The Project (formerly South Birmingham Young Homeless Project) can help you.

We understand what a struggle it can be to make ends meet and how quickly things can spiral out of control and the devastating effects this can have on individuals and families. We are here to provide advice, sign posting and practical support. All in a friendly setting that will make you really feel at home.

Our advisers are fully trained and qualified and the advice we give is totally confidential, always free and never judgmental. We can help you with finding accommodation, filling in forms, provide access to PC and phones, make sure you are receiving the benefits you are entitled to, support you in appealing adverse benefit decisions and help you reduce your debt and regain control of your money.

But it’s doesn’t stop there and the practical support we give in crisis situations is an integral part of what we do. From bus tickets to emergency food parcels, from grant applications to replacement birth certificates, whatever your age or situation we are here to help when things get tough.
